I get excited about the tiniest little things, I believe it’s one of my best qualities. It doesn’t take grand gestures to make me happy, though I do love those once in a while too. But mostly I love when my gardenia blooms or I see a kitten batting around a little pebble. There’s always some small thing in the day that tickles me. On the flip side, the little things can really get under my skin and I can blow it out of proportion faster than I can blow a bubble with a mouthful of chewing gum. Yesterday morning was one of those times. I’d gotten myself all riled up about something that was indeed not great but also, perhaps, not the end of the world as I was teetering on making it. As I started to get a little teary about it M3 who was on the phone with me and really ready to start his work day as I banged on about it for another round calmly said, “Sweetheart, this doesn’t matter. It’s important, but it doesn’t matter.” That stopped me in my little mid meltdown tracks. Huh…as per usual he was right. It was important but it also didn’t matter. By 1:00 yesterday afternoon the entire situation was resolved and I won’t think about it again. No need for hysterics or worrying myself sick. Don’t you hate it when the boy is sooo right?
Is it just me or does anyone else tend to get worked into a real lather about total nonsense?
