HEAR YE HEAR YE! ATTENTION!!!!
Happy Thursday everyone! I am posting this not because I want to, but because I absolutely have to. After a great deal of deliberation & discussion, I have made the decision that I am well over capacity for the summer repairs. Therefore, I will be closed to walk-ins until further notice.
This decision does not come lightly. As many of you know, I do everything I can to complete every repair possible, but I also have to consider my physical and mental limitations. I currently have over 400 horns in the shop for repair, with about 40 more still coming from schools as they finish up for the year.
From the bottom of my heart, THANK YOU! Thank you all for supporting me and trusting me with your instrument repairs and requests for new instruments. Nothing brings me more joy than taking in a repair and handing it back in great working order. I stand behind every repair I perform, and I will not sacrifice quality for quantity – or simply for the money. That is not how Gnomeland Services operates. I pride myself on doing the job right the first time, every time, and ensuring that each repair receives the full attention that it, and you as my clients, deserve.
If you have already spoken with me about bringing something in, or we have discussed pickups, please don’t worry! I will honor all repairs that have already been promised. There is a good possibility that spots may open up in August or September, and I will keep a waiting list for repairs. If an opening becomes available, I will contact you to see if the need is there. If not, no worries – on to the next person. I believe this is the fairest way to handle repairs for the remainder of the summer.
As always, if you have a true emergency (a repad is not an emergency 😛), I will do everything I can to fit those in. Emergencies would be a quick solder, H20 key corks, tenon corks, & quick regulations. If you’re unsure, please reach out. If I cannot help you at that time, I do have friends in the surrounding area (you may need to take a drive) that may still be taking on work. We need repair technicians more than ever. I am not the only shop that is so swamped that we don’t know which end is up. We will work together to make sure everyone gets taken care of.
I’ll continue to keep everyone updated as the situation unfolds as the summer progresses. I truly hope by closing the floodgates for a while, I can get caught up and take on more later in the summer.
I would not be successful without your support. I appreciate all of you more than I can ever put into words.
If you call, and I don’t answer, I am probably halfway inside a tuba. 😃
Godspeed, and see you all on the other side of summer repair madness!!!!
