Okay, y'all… be honest.

Our "Intro to Improv" quilting class is officially open for signups, and this sample is the kind of creative play we’ll be exploring — bold color, unexpected shapes, wonky lines, movement, and a whole lot of “trust the process.”

No two quilts will look the same, and that’s exactly the fun of it.

This class is for the quilter who wants to loosen up, play with fabric, and make something that feels personal without being boxed into perfect points and exact measurements. And the best part is that you get to do it in a fun, safe, and creative space... here at TSB.

Angela from Ollie Sara Designs came by yesterday with her newest pattern, Moonlit Elixir — and TSB is one of the first shops to carry it! 🙌

She also brought the actual sample quilt, and it is SO good in person. 🤩 We’ll be proudly displaying it in the shop for the next two weeks, so come see Angela’s incredible work up close.

Okay, Quilt Festival is getting REAL. 🧵✨

You already know The Sewcial Box is heading to International Quilt Festival Houston this November. But the closer we get, the more I keep thinking about what we’re actually bringing with us.

✨ Building the Next Generation isn’t just a lecture. It’s going to be a real conversation about how we welcome, teach, include, and intentionally make space for the next generation of makers.

🪡 Beginner Sewing Experience gives adults who are brand new to sewing a place to sit down, get behind a machine, and discover that yes — they CAN do this.

✂️ And First Stitch Studio for Kids is happening TWICE.

Young makers will have their own hands-on sewing experience at International Quilt Festival.

That is HUGE.

We spend a lot of time in this industry talking about “the next generation.”

At TSB, we believe they need more than a conversation about them.

They need an invitation.
They need access.
They need a seat at the table.
And sometimes… they need a sewing machine. 😉

This is exactly the kind of work The Sewcial Box was built to do, and I cannot wait to bring it to Festival.

Okay, solids lovers… we’re making even more ROOM. 🌈

You may have noticed our solids selection is growing!

We’re stocking AMB Cotton Solids by Clothworks AND adding Superior Solids by Benartex — with new colors arriving every month. Before you know it - we’ll have two new walls of even more color! 🤪😬

Because yes… sometimes the print is the star.
Sometimes the solid is the star.
And sometimes you just need that ridiculously specific shade that nothing else will replace. 😂

Yes, Houston directions are a whole adventure. 😂 But while we’re here… let’s talk about who we are.

The Sewcial Box is a modern sewing + quilting shop in Cypress, just outside Houston, built for the curious, the creative, the brand-new beginner, and the “I’ve been sewing forever but I still need help with this” crowd. 😂

We’ve got fabric. Machines. Notions. Classes. Longarming. Youth programs. Community. And yes… somebody is probably going to ask what you’re working on when you walk through the door. 🤷🏽‍♀️

We’re not a huge shop. We’re also not trying to be every other quilt shop.

We’re just The Sewcial Box.

Today, we took The Sewcial Box on the road. ✂️🧵

We were invited to Spring Cypress Independent Living to introduce The Sewcial Box, share a little more about who we are and what we offer, and spend the afternoon talking fabric, sewing, creativity and community with their residents.

And while you may know us best for what happens inside the shop, getting out into the community isn’t new for us!

Sometimes we pack up a little piece of The Sewcial Box and take it on the road — projects, fabric, inspiration and all. Today was one of those days. 😉

We talked. We shared. We played with fabric. We showed off a few projects. And we had a really good time doing it.

If you didn’t know The Sewcial Box could come to your community, organization or group… now you do. 👀

As we build out future classes, clubs and workshops, we’d love to hear what would actually get you excited enough to sign up.
