Sixteen years ago, I started making candles in my kitchen.

That was long before candle making became a trend. Long before social media became a classroom. Long before tutorials, reels, and endless “how-to” videos were only a click away.

Back then, I learned through curiosity, printed guides, research, and a whole lot of trial and error. Every mistake taught me something. Every candle made me better.

For 16 years, I’ve continued to study, create, test, and refine…not because I wanted to make pretty candles, but because I became fascinated with aromatherapy and the role fragrance can play in how we care for ourselves.

Today, Sparkle & Co is about so much more than candles.

It’s about creating experiences that encourage you to slow down, breathe deeply, and show up for yourself without guilt. Whether that’s a candle, a bath soak, a room spray, or simply a quiet moment, my goal is to give you tools that make self-care feel intentional and accessible.

Sixteen years later, I’m still learning. Still teaching. Still creating.

And I’m just getting started.

When you inhale an aroma, scent molecules interact with specialized receptors inside your nose. Those receptors send signals through the olfactory nerve to the olfactory bulb and then to areas of the brain involved in processing smell, emotion, and memory.

That’s why one familiar fragrance can instantly remind you of a loved one, a childhood memory, or a special place.

Aromatherapy isn’t about magic—it’s about understanding the remarkable connection between scent, the brain, and our lived experiences.
