52 birthdays celebrated, 22 names stitched, one alarm clock reminding me that summer break is officially over 😂⏰ and a whole lot of first rodeos along the way.

From silly geese to birthday bunnies to cowboys (so. many. cowboys. 🤠), August was a fun one. And seeing these pieces out in the wild at your celebrations will never get old.

Same design, three completely different personalities 🍄🌿🎀

One of my favorite parts of making each banner is choosing the fabrics that bring it to life. These three Fairy First Birthday banners all started with the same embroidered design, but each fabric combination gives it its own little personality.

A little behind-the-scenes shop update ⬇️

Over the past few months, I’ve restructured the way I schedule orders at Crafting By Night. Instead of one general turnaround time, you’ll now choose your ✨event weekend✨ when you order.

This lets me plan my workload around when each celebration is actually happening, and helps make sure your birthday pieces arrive with plenty of time to spare because shipping times have been WILD lately.

If your weekend is no longer listed, that means I’m full for that date. For celebrations coming up sooner, I keep a limited number of rush spots available, plus a Ready to Ship section for those “oh wait, the birthday is WHEN?!” moments. 😅

My best advice? If you know the theme, go ahead and order. You can check one more thing off the birthday-planning list and know your spot on my schedule is reserved. 🎉

For Maisie’s 9th birthday, I took her love of playing mermaids in the pool and ran with it—turning our backyard into a tiny all-inclusive mermaid resort for the night.

The girls checked in, got their room keys and resort itineraries, collected pearls as they went, made crafts, searched for treasure, swam, ate cake, and ended the night with a poolside showing of The Little Mermaid.

Did they do every activity I planned? Absolutely not. 😂 But I will forever be Team Plan Too Many Activities rather than Team Nine Bored Kids With Nothing To Do.

And because apparently I cannot just throw a birthday party without creating an entire fictional hospitality brand…I present: Mermaid Cove Beach Club. 💕🐚

I started another shop. 😬

If you’ve been here for a while, you know how much I love coming up with the little embroidered details that make my Crafting by Night pieces feel special. Somewhere along the way, I decided I wanted to learn how to actually digitize the embroidery designs myself.

So… meet Whimsy by Day ☀️

Whimsy by Day is my new Etsy shop for machine embroidery designs where everything is digitized, stitched, tested, and made by me.

I’m still learning, experimenting, and figuring out exactly what I want this little shop to become, which is honestly part of the fun. You can expect lots of playful, nostalgic designs made with the same kind of childhood whimsy you see around here.

Crafting by Night isn’t going anywhere. 💚 This is just another creative corner for all the ideas bouncing around in my head.

50 birthdays celebrated, 22 names stitched, 16 custom phrases…and a whole lot of tiny details made by hand.

And apparently July said YEEHAW 🤠 because rodeo birthdays were the theme of the month by a landslide.

A little late on the July recap, but these celebrations were too sweet not to share ✨
