A behind the scenes look at how we make our wool socks.

This homespun yarn is from our Jacob ewe "Rainey". Our socks are made here on the farm using a circular sock machine that was made between 1900 and 1926.

It takes about 1 hour to make a pair start to finish using prepared yarn. It takes an additional 2-3 hours if I spin the yarn from roving.

See our spinning wheels in action this Saturday at our Fall Spinning Day! Try a spinning wheel yourself and make your own yarn.
