We're officially one week away from North Texas Giving Day!

At Vickery Trading Company, every gift supports opportunities for refugee women to learn, grow, and build greater independence for themselves and their families.

That means women strengthening their English, developing new skills, preparing for meaningful employment, growing in confidence, and building new lives here in North Texas.

The women we serve are doing the work, and our community can help make sure they have the tools and support they need along the way.

Our Conversation Partners program pairs volunteers with refugee women to practice English, share stories, and build genuine relationships.

Why does Vickery Trading Company focus on refugee women?

Many refugee women arrive with incredible resilience, skills, and determination, but they also face significant barriers to employment, including language differences, unfamiliar workforce systems, and limited local support networks.

Success isn't measured by graduation day; it's about what comes next.

At Vickery Trading Company, every woman who graduates with employment goals has gone on to secure a job paying at least $15 per hour, and 100% are still employed after 90 days.

For some of our Associates, who have had little to no access to formal education, this income-earning capacity represents a significant step toward financial independence and greater stability for their families.

Through vocational training, English immersion, mentorship, and holistic support, women build practical skills and confidence they can carry with them into the workplace and beyond.

We’re proud to see our Associates put their talents to work and create new possibilities for themselves and their families.
