This rare 18th century Dutch Neoclassical secretary bookcase was handcrafted in oak and carefully stripped to reveal its pale natural grain. From the carved crest of musical instruments, ribbons, and laurel foliage to the brass capitals, pullout candle slides, beautiful original hardware, and expertly fitted writing interior, every detail speaks to the refinement of accomplished Dutch cabinetmaking.

What exactly is a Dutch linen press? This extraordinary example has been answering that question for nearly 300 years.

Dating to the 18th century, this Dutch Baroque antique linen press was created to store a household’s valuable linens, with an elaborate cabinet above and three generous drawers below. Crafted from solid oak, its beautifully stripped finish now reveals the grain of the wood and brings the remarkable Baroque carving into focus.
The sculptural crown, shaped paneled doors, bombe drawer fronts, carved claw feet and beautifully preserved period brass hardware are wonderful examples of Dutch cabinetmaking.
And while its original purpose belongs to another century, its usefulness certainly does not. The spacious interior offers exceptional storage and can even accommodate a television, making this antique armoire remarkably adaptable to modern interiors.

Nearly three centuries of history, with plenty of life still ahead.

History, craftsmanship, and Gothic character all in one remarkable bench. ✨
Created during the 19th century, this Gothic Revival deacon’s bench reflects the architectural language of a European church interior. Pointed arches, pierced foliate carving, turned supports, and sculptural scrolls bring wonderful character to its solid oak and fruitwood frame.
Originally reserved for a member of the clergy, it remains a distinctive and highly decorative example of ecclesiastical furniture, with a beautifully aged stripped finish and warm natural patina.

People often ask what it takes to fill our showroom with beautiful European antiques. The truth is, finding them is only the beginning. Every antique I bring home has spoken to me in some way, whether it’s a French mirror, an English cabinet, or a Belgian table with centuries of character. Then our restoration team goes to work, carefully preserving the history and patina that made me fall in love with it in the first place. Seeing each piece finally ready for its next home is still the most rewarding part of what I do.
