Since we were delivering our first two sousaphones to the "The President's Own" United States Marine Band in Washington DC, I decided to deliver them myself and meet the band! I was also asked by The U.S. Army Band “Pershing’s Own" to try out the new sousaphone. So my first stop was a Bruckner hall to let the guys in the Army band play the sousa before delivering it to the Marines at the Marine barracks. There is a statue of John Philip Sousa just outside the barracks. He served as the the 17th Director of "The President's Own" from 1880-1892. The most famous director of the band, he wrote the national march "The Stars and Stripes Forever" and the official march of the Marine Corps "Semper Fidelis." The first sousaphone was first created at the request of John Philip Sousa around 1893 by J. W. Pepper. Our new version of the sousaphone was very well received by all! What a great trip, meeting the band and learning some history along the way!! https://butlertrombones.com/sousa/

The use of carbon fiber in manufacturing trombone slides is validated by one of the worlds largest manufacturer of musical instruments. We have been saying this for over a decade!

We took CS20 0001 to a nearby high school football field to take some pictures and play a little outside. It was great to hear the reverberation off the walls of the school and it was incredibly comfortable to walk around with an 11 pound sousa!! https://butlertrombones.com/sousa/

A customer wanted an Edwards dual bore bass complete slide section. Edwards was gracious enough to sell us their parts. It also includes two carbon fiber leadpipes, our very comfortable removable contoured insert, and a tin of BERP plus a Magic Slide Wand. All for the price of $1,900. Oh, I almost forgot, it also includes an all carbon fiber lightning fast outer slide that weighs only 80 grams!! Order yours here: https://butlertrombones.com/custom-slide-order-form/

This entire sousaphone body and bell minus the valve section weighs an incredible 4.5 lbs. The body is engineered with a three layer carbon fiber composite that makes it unbelievably strong and stiff helping to generate an amazing amount of projection. https://butlertrombones.com/sousa/
