This is heartbreaking — without farmers, America starves. Without truckers, the shelves go empty. The two hardest-working professions in this country keep everyone alive and get almost no credit. They don’t ask for fame — just a little respect.

This evening a lady came to our rescue to see her missing dog who she thought was with us. Unfortunately this was not the case and she was scammed.

She said “I got a call from a no caller ID number that said that they were at the urgent care at the Humane Society of Northwest Georgia. They said that our dog was struck by a vehicle and needed emergency surgery. They told us that we would have to pay a down payment for the vet to do the emergency surgery. They told us to come see the dog and that we could pick the dog up tomorrow. We were worried about it being a scam so the guy said that he would run to the front desk and call us from the humane society number. Once he called us from the humane society number we zelled them the down payment.”

We do not have a vet at our shelter and do not have an urgent care.

Please be wary of anyone trying to get money from you. This poor lady is still looking for her dog and has been scammed of $.

The lady is filing a police report and giving all the information to the police department.
