Maybe you’ve seen our weekly sale ads. Maybe you met us during Celebrate Damascus. But what exactly is Harwood House?

Harwood House is more than just a thrift shop.

Located in the heart of Damascus at the intersection of Routes 108 and 124, Harwood House is a place where generosity, compassion, purpose, and community come together every single day.

Behind every donation is a story. Behind every purchase is a mission. And behind it all is a dedicated team of nearly 100 volunteers who give their time to sort, clean, price, display, and prepare thousands of donated items from generous members of our community.

Four days each week, those donations find new homes through our thrift shop. Every purchase does more than provide an affordable treasure—it helps support over 30 local charities and community organizations throughout the year. From helping neighbors in need to supporting local nonprofits, every dollar stays right here, making a difference in the community we all call home.

At Harwood House, we believe that generosity has the power to change lives. Every donated item, every volunteer hour, and every purchase helps create a ripple effect of kindness that reaches far beyond our doors.
