The BookSmiths Shoppe Danbury’s Independent Bookstore! We sell used/new books, gifts, toys, hold book signings & events! 📚 MISSION STATEMENT: Welcome to The BookSmiths Shoppe.

We are a small independent woman owned bookstore (set up as a sole proprietorship) aimed at offering used and new books and magazines to the general public, moderately priced, shipping qu**ky and with special care in packaging. We view ourselves as contributors to the reduction of landfills, promoting literacy, and keeping the physical book alive in a digital age. We donate a portion of our proceeds to local non profit organizations. ARC purchases go directly to charity. We also offer a local pickup option by appointment only at our Danbury, CT bookstore location. WE DO COMBINE SHIPPING which will appear as a small refund after the books have been packed and weighed. She’s back! 📚💕 We’re so happy to welcome Brittany Amara back to The BookSmiths Shoppe for her second book signing! Many of you may remember her first visit with The Bleeding Woods. This time, she’s joining us with her new book, Paradise of Lies!

Brittany is an author, actress, and model with a love of science fiction, fantasy, and stories that venture into strange and otherworldly places. When she isn’t writing, she enjoys stargazing and baking pumpkin bread. ✨

In Paradise of Lies, a young woman seeking treatment for a mysterious illness arrives in a beautiful desert town where nothing is quite as it seems. Dark secrets, twisted obsessions, and whispered warnings turn her hope for healing into a nightmare. 🐍📖

We were so happy to have local author Mickie Fosina stop by The BookSmiths Shoppe! Mickie is my sister’s mother in law. 💕🙏🏻

A mother of six, Mickie found inspiration for her children’s stories in her own grandchildren. She spent years writing short stories and poems before sharing her work through published books. Her granddaughter Jackie even asked her to write a story just for her. How sweet is that? 🥰

We were so happy to welcome local author Lisa Yu to The BookSmiths Shoppe! 📚❤️

A former elementary school teacher, Lisa was inspired to create her My Parent’s Job series while helping her young son understand his dad’s work as a firefighter. Such a lovely way to help little ones understand the important work their parents do!

We now have signed copies of My Daddy Is a Firefighter, My Mommy Is a Firefighter, and Mommies Make a Difference and You Can Too! available in the store.

We are so happy to welcome author Dan Coonan back to The BookSmiths Shoppe with his new book, Second to None! Dan was our very first author to join us for a book signing back in 2023, so he will always hold a special place in our bookstore’s story!

Written with coach Danny Boehle, Second to None shares the story of El Segundo’s journey to the 2023 Little League World Series championship—and the love, teamwork, and selflessness that helped get them there. Dan grew up playing Little League in El Segundo himself, making this story especially personal for him. ⚾️

We also carry his novels Presidential Spirits and its sequel, Another Round! Presidential Spirits imagines a president discovering a secret White House saloon where he can talk with all the former presidents and seek their advice. Another Round continues the story—a little history, a little imagination, and plenty to talk about!

Thank you for coming back, Dan, and for being part of our journey from the beginning! Stop in and pick up a signed copy of Second to None. 📚
