James Dorsey was born on Ellerbe Plantation in Shreveport, Louisiana on August 14, 1931. By age 8, he was already picking cotton in the fields. For decades, he couldn't prove who he was because his birth was never recorded. Now at 94, with help from ABC13 and his daughter, he's finally submitted an application for a birth certificate. He says he can't even put into words what it would mean to finally have one.
