In Memory of Elder Lasserre Bradley, Jr
The Old School Hymnal Foundation would like to take the opportunity at the passing of Elder Lasserre Bradley, Jr. to honor the memory of a man who had a great impact on the development, promotion, distribution, and acceptance of the Old School Hymnal across the USA as well as in many parts of the world.
The Old School Hymnal began in 1920 and was incorporated in 1973 at which time a Board of Directors was established. Elder Bradley was one of the original owners and members of the board and faithfully continued as its Vice-President for the next 45 years until resigning from the company in 2018. Throughout those years he continued to help guide its activities and further its purpose to provide a hymnal to assist God’s people in praising their God and worshipping their Lord and Savior Jesus Christ through the singing of “psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your hearts to the Lord” (Ephesians 5:19).
It is with deep appreciation for his years of service to the Old School Hymnal and to the worship of God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ our Savior that we offer this memorial to our fellow laborer, Lasserre Bradley, Jr. We trust that having gone on to be with the Lord, he is now singing that new song among the saints that The Revelation tells us constitutes the heavenly worship of Jesus:
And they sung a new song, saying, Thou art worthy to take the book, and to open the seals thereof: for thou wast slain, and hast redeemed us to God by thy blood out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation – Revelation 5:9
