So this weekend, Tom and I stayed at an Air BNB, in Hollywood, Al. I couldn’t sleep Saturday night/ Sunday morning, and maybe it was the town name that inspires me. Lack of sleep, or inspiration, I wrote this little poem. I’m sharing it for entertainment purposes. You may hit the like or love button, message a 🤮, or maybe write music, and turn it into a #1 hit (my writing, so you must share the royalties). Whatever, I hope it puts a smile on your face.

We’ve paid cash for jewelry, chainsaws, fishing poles too.
We even paid cash for an eyeball one time-that’s true!

We sell fi****ms that shake the ground; we sell suppressors that quiet the sound.

We sell elderberry and honey to keep you healthy.
Buy gold when it’s low, to make you wealthy.

Buy first aid supplies-you might save the day!
Buy a guitar, and learn how to play!

If you’ve never been in, or it’s been a while, come on by-we’ll greet you with a smile.

Now that you know how we spend the day, there’s something left I still gotta say.

We think of our customers as family you know, always happy to see them-some when they come, and some when they go.

A word from the President of Gold Mine Pawn Shop, Thomas Hand, (with Allie’s help!).

“A note to (potential) Gold Mine Pawn Shop "Silencer" buyers:

Before I get into this note, remember: This is subject to change, go away, "never mind", "forget about it", etc. This is political and DEFINITELY government based, which can have a rabbit in a hat scenario with unpredictable and VERY unsatisfactory results.

I AM NOT A LAWYER, but I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night (heehee)

I suggest getting a Gun Owner of America membership. $25.00 per year. GOA, Silencer Shop, numerous states and additional private organizations are responsible for filing a lawsuit that has resulted in the (permanent, yeah right!) relief from NFA regulation of Silencers, and several other NFA items.

This conversation (for Gold Mine Pawn Shop in Daphne, Alabama) is SPECIFICALLY aimed at SILENCERS ONLY, for now.

The relief (using a 4473 to purchase a Silencer in lieu of a NFA Form 4) is limited to the plaintiffs, their customers, and other covered parties identified in the court’s Final Judgment.

We are NOT THERE YET, but, It looks like a membership to GOA will suffice for inclusion as a plaintiff to purchase a silencer with a 4473.

So, in the not too distant future, Gold Mine Pawn Shop will sell Suppressors (or as the Feds call them, "Silencers"), but will require written proof of a current, active GOA membership that will be attached to the 4473, as proof of the active GOA membership at the time of purchase. I WILL NOT ACCEPT ANY OTHER DOCUMENTS OF MEMBERSHIP OTHER THAN GUN OWNERS OF AMERICA MEMBERSHIP.

My plan is to have an "Extended hours 12:01 AM party type event to celebrate something"....pizza and cokes included. We would stay open until the customers have all been sold suppressors with a 4473.

What will make this happen is either ATF coming out with guidance, rules and regulation, or FFL Consultants, LLC giving the go-ahead.

We will give as much heads up to this change, but would not be a bit surprised if there is no heads up.

Maybe the suggestion to get a GOA membership is a heads up, kinda, maybe......

We are so grateful for our Facebook followers. Y’all knocked it out of the park sharing our SAFER Together Alabama post. Thank you for spreading the word about this program, so people could learn about it. In fact, y’all, did so good, that WKRG sent a sweet reporter to interview Tom, and they will be airing the interview Monday or Tuesday. This is going to reach so many more people. We are excited knowing our community has one more resource when dealing with difficult times. Thank y’all so much.
