Cockscomb 🐔 Celosia (Celosia cristata) is part of the same Genus as Celosia plumes (Celosia plumosa) but they are different species (cristata vs. plumosa)!

I had to look up the parts of a scientific name to brush up on my lacking biology skills. Did you guys know my dad is a retired high school bio teacher? Shhh 🤫 don’t tell him I had to Google this!

Hi, I'm Violet - owner and creator of Violet's Flower Farm.

After researching and reading about growing cut flowers from seed, what started as an exploration has turned into a full-blown passion project. With many mistakes and a few successes, I'm learning more every day.

I'm thankful for other florists and farmers who have shared so many valuable lessons and advice. I encourage any budding grower to dive into this amazing hobby, because it will reward you (and humble you) every single day.
