More pics of the Music Man Bass build. Neck has been finished with 3 coats of teak oil. The body has been treated to the first coat of poly and the 2nd coat applied to the front. Still have to do the back and buff out some imperfections. Copper shielding tape applied to cavities as well

Well things change...
The new kit from Solo Music Gear is a Music Man style bass. The kit has arrived and I started by sanding the neck and leveling, crowning, and polishing the frets. Also gave the fret board its first coat of oil.

Project Cheap Ass Bass is under way as well. The build is based off of an early 90s MiM Fender Squire series jazz bass. I have American Standard Jazz Bass pickups to put in and will be converting it from the one ply cheap one piece plastic pickguard over to a three play with the metal control plate for a much nicer look. Going with either an anodized purple look or a color shift mystic type recolor. Haven't quite made up my mind yet. Initial pics.
