UPDATE: Arrest Made in Overnight Shooting Investigation

Zachary L. Beverlin, 28-years-old of Davenport, Iowa, has been charged with Murder 1st Degree, Willful Injury with Serious Injury, Assault While Participating in a Felony, Going Armed with Intent, and Felon in Possession of a Firearm in relation to this incident.

The identity of the deceased is being withheld pending family notification. This remains an ongoing investigation; no further information is available at this time.

Shooting Investigation | Third and Pine Streets

On Thursday January 5, 2023, at approximately 2:19 AM, Davenport Police, Fire, and Medic EMS responded to the area of Third and Pine Streets in reference to the report of shots fired.

Upon arrival, responding officers located two individuals with apparent gunshot wounds and immediately started providing medical attention. A 40-year-old male was transported by Medic EMS to a local hospital where they were pronounced deceased. A second individual, a 33-year-old male, was transported to a local hospital with serious injuries.

No other injuries were reported. This does not appear to be a random act of violence. This incident remains under investigation; no further information is available at this time.
