Sun tea is one of my favorite slow-summer throwbacks.
Quick recipe:
1 Tbsp loose black tea per quart of cool, filtered water
Steep in bright sun for 2–4 hours
Strain, chill, and pour over ice
Black tea brings classic amber color, naturally occurring caffeine, and antioxidant compounds for a bright afternoon pick-me-up. Add citrus, mint, or a touch of honey if you like.
This month’s Herb Box is inspired by nostalgic warm-weather drinks and includes black tea, sarsaparilla root, and sweet birch bark.
