Happy Heavenly Birthday to Prince today. Born June 7th, 1958. Join me in the celebration of his music. What is your favorite Prince song or album? Mine is Sign O' The Times, released in 1987. A double album that contained the hits : Sign O' The Times, U Got The Look, If I Was Ur Girlfriend & Hot Thing. It was the first album after he broke up his prior band, The Revolution. The Outtakes and b-Sides of this period are awesome. The deluxe edition is available for streaming. My favorite outtake is All My Dreams. It's a great song and you should check it out.

Recently added to www.barrettsocietyrecords.com and will be exclusive online and to the record show this coming Sunday on April 12 in Moline. Anything not sold by Wednesday of next week will be placed in the shop at Mississippi Marketplace. We will also have select items from our shop pulled for the event on Sunday. Also, don't forget this Saturday is Vintage Vibes Day at Mississippi Marketplace. We will be offering 20% off in store only for April 11th. Come on out to both our events at Mississippi Marketplace on Saturday, 9am-7pm, and the East End Bolders Club in Moline on Sunday, 10am-3pm. Both locations will have other great vendors selling. Free to come, bring cash to spend. Hope to see you at both events and say hi.

Today marks the birthday of the man who inspired our business name. Syd Barrett was born on this date in 1946. He was the co-founder of Pink Floyd. Left the group in 1969 and had 2 solo albums before seclusion from the music scene. Pink Floyd would make the album Wish You Were Here in 1975 in tribute to him. Syd actually showed up at the studio when they were doing final mixing of the album. He was unrecognizable and was the last time the group was able to interact with him. Syd passed away in 2006. Pull out some early Pink Floyd and Wish You Were Here in honor of this great poet. Shine on you crazy diamond.
