The Black Feathers, Irish and English-born singer-songwriters Ray Hughes and Sian Chandler are currently residing in Wales, UK — married in life and to the stage since 2012. Over the last few years, they have been spreading their wings across the US and western Canada.

Americana, Folk, and Acoustic Indie Rock sensibilities coexist comfortably in their musical world, with Hughes’ guitar work buoying the kind of harmonies often only heard in family bands. Their music quickly draws the interest of listeners, but it is the stage chemistry that will keep them riveted.

Longtime scene aficionados ‘The Max Riley Group’ return after a yearlong hiatus for a special night of psychedelic guitar funk wizardry at the one and only Melon Ball in Davis CA! Fronted by the immensely talented Max Riley Carpenter, Owlfest family band ‘The Max Riley Group’ offers sweet soul, tight blues, and the pure intention of keeping rock music alive and healthy.

Joining them on their POWERLINES TOUR performing their debut full length album, from Arcata CA are indie rock troubadours, ‘Pennies For Pluto’ ! Originally based in Grass Valley the NorCalOG band writes lyric driven ballads, thoughtfully arranged to maintain earnestness right in the face of today’s political climate, screen epidemic, and emotional distraction.

Live at the Melon Ball this Friday!
Hattie Craven is a genre-blending singer, multi-instrumentalist, and magnetic performer who has been onstage since early childhood. Raised in a deeply musical household and mentored by her father, award-winning artist and educator Joe Craven, she made her festival debut at just four years old on the Kate Wolf Music Festival main stage alongside Laura Love.

A natural actor, dancer, and vocalist, Hattie grew from early musical-theater leads into a sought-after session singer by age eleven, recording her debut album “Eleven” with the Joe Craven Trio. She has since released multiple solo albums—including Bright—and continues to evolve her sound across folk, bluegrass, jazz, pop, and soul.

Her dynamic live presence has earned her standing ovations at major festivals including Strawberry, California World Fest, Wintergrass, Live Oak, Parkfield Bluegrass, Millpond, Suwannee Roots Revival, and Delfest.

A versatile instrumentalist on ukulele, baritone uke, mandolin, tenor guitar, banjo, and fiddle, Hattie pairs technical skill with a rich, expressive voice influenced by artists like Amy Winehouse, Joni Mitchell, James Brown, and Louis Prima. Her songwriting explores themes of love, loss, resilience, and reinvention.

She recently expanded her national reach through her collaboration with Dirtwire and LVDY on the single “Take Me Mama.”

Experience an unforgettable evening of mystery, laughter, and seemingly impossible thrills as Modern Magic Live! brings together three contemporary magicians for one spectacular event.

The evening begins with intimate strolling magic then continues with a fast-paced stage show where award-winning professional magicians Craig Meyers, Roman Spinale, and Michael Nguyen each bring a distinct style to create astonishing sleights of hand, mind-reading, and visual illusions.

For more than 20 years, Craig Meyers has been a resident performer at the California Magic Club in Martinez, California. He has been featured at the world-famous Magic Castle in Hollywood and now performs internationally as a resident close-up magician for Club Med Resorts, entertaining guests in Turks and Caicos, Cancún, Quebec, and Marbella, Spain. Currently touring as an opening act for Jay Leno, premier underground close-up magician Roman Spinale has delighted audiences with his signature blend of magic and comedy for over a decade. He has been featured on CBS television, performed at San Francisco’s Edwardian Ball, was house conjurer for Curio Nightclub in San Francisco’s Mission District, and secured a magic residency at a three-Michelin-starred restaurant in Florence, Italy. Adrian West Band returns to Davis for another night of great live music. Performing as a six-piece band with pianist (Michael Echaniz) on the Steinway grand piano they’ll play their signature mix of original acoustic rock, a couple covers and few jazz tunes. Some describe their sound as “Paul Simon meets Talking Heads”. The band will include two vocalists, acoustic guitar, piano, electric violin, alto sax, upright bass, drums & live looping.
