Hello, Edges, my old enemy. This is the second Edge puzzle by .studio (officially titled Birthday Heist on the Hillside). It's one of those puzzles that I picked up because I knew I wanted at least the opportunity to put it together. Except, the first version was really spicy and I wasn't really sure if I ever wanted to do another edge puzzle. I shared about this puzzle when I bought it and reached out and said she had a copy too and we should do it together. She reached out at the end of last week and mentioned she was going to tackle hers and I grabbed my copy to put it together too. PS. Happy Birthday, yesterday Mel!

The one thing about that first puzzle is that it prepared me for future edge puzzles. I went into this one with a plan. 💪To start, I did a big sort of all the obvious parts: the grassy top, the big window section, the gems, the party supplies, the kitchen area, the security area, the gold pile, bookshelves, pipes. I also had two important piles, the completely useless pile (which had pieces that were almost exclusively reddish-brown) and the mostly useless pile (which was mostly reddish-brown but also had parts of rocks and maybe the generic body of an ant). In general, this puzzle has a lot more going for it compared to the first version. First off, there is way more going on. That green upper portion alone was such a relief to put together on this one after the struggle of the first puzzle.

Y'all. I finished this thing in one day, in just a few hours! 🎉I think I finished this probably 75% faster than the first puzzle. 😅The organizing worked great. Yes, I did eventually end up with a table covered with pieces, but I also had multiple large sections finished that just needed connecting. Big difference from that first version when 90% of the puzzle was just chaos assembling. This puzzle was, dare I say it, fun. 10/10 recommend being organized if you go at this one.

I was chatting with Mel about this puzzle and she told me there is actually a third Yetch Studio edge puzzle out now. Somehow in my social media detox, I managed to miss that announcement. I really want to do that one now. 😅🌳

Took a little break to spend time with family (and also to detox a little from social media). So, hello again!

This is Golden Dome by Laila Luxury Puzzles with art by Ola El-Metwally and it's one of the new puzzles that I'm offering in my shop now. This one is SO dang pretty. I love the colors, such pretty blues and greens and that lovely contrasting yellow-gold. If you've never tried a Laila Luxury puzzle, they are wonderful! Nice thick pieces with a soft matte finish. The pieces feel ever so slightly larger than your typical cut, but I actually quite liked that, especially as this one is a 500-piece count.

This design is 'Woodpile', a 1000-piece Lininus Puzzle which features the art of Benjamin Degen Studio .

The thing that struck me most about this puzzle is that the pile of wood is made up of these small intricate little dots and lines. Each little part of the wood is made up of a different combination of parts of the color palette. I really love the color usage here because Degen has made so many individual elements that each have their own pattern/combination of color and they all visually work so well together. I initially thought this would be a really good one to do my big color sort on and I'm glad to say that ended up being correct. I sorted just about all of it, but I did put a small portion of mixed pieces onto a tray because while it was useful to sort, it also took a bit longer than normal as there are so many individual collections of color.

Putting it together was quite fun. I enjoyed chipping away at all the different parts of the logs. I did end up lightly referencing the box (something I don't always do) just so that I could start placing each log in approximately the right spot as I worked, because with a puzzle like this it tends to spread out if you don't do this as you go. You absolutely do not need to fully sort this puzzle to enjoy it. This would be a great one to pick and pull for because all of the different patterns make it fun to rifle through the pieces looking for that right color combination.

I have wanted to put this particular puzzle together for so long. Pretty much years now. This gorgeous puzzle is Electronic Fantasy, which is a brand puzzle and the artwork is by the incredible . I really love Rowon's style and love that Soonness keeps putting her artwork on puzzles. I just wish I had a bigger budget to buy them all.😅 I got the opportunity to work on this one as it's currently a traveling puzzle that I got on the list for. I vaguely remember adding my name I think more than a year ago and I was so excited when I got a message that it was heading to me next.

Now, this one was on the spicy side. Rowon typically uses watercolor and colored pencils to draw her artwork and when you look at the individual pieces when you are starting, the texture of the colored pencil can make it feel quite soft and abstract. The colors are reused multiple times, in many different areas and this particular image is quite busy so it did 'up' the challenge level. This puzzle is so pretty in person. Well, it's pretty on the screen too, but in person, this one was stunning. The colors are so vibrant and happy. I loved working on this one.

Beyond that, I love the subject matter on this one. All those beautiful older pieces of technology collected and rearranged together in a single room. I love how if you look through the round door, it looks a bit futuristic which leads you to assume that she's from the future and has stumbled upon this treasure trove of old tech. As a big fan of Cowboy Bebop, this reminded me of Faye Valentine's storyline. I need to do a rewatch soon. 🚀🤠

This is such a pretty little puzzle. This is one of the 9 puzzles that I found from at my library's book sale at the beginning of the month. Honestly, that haul deserves it's own post, but I haven't gotten to it yet. This is 'Stationery Shop', the 500-piece puzzle from .puzzle and it features the beautiful artwork of .

This puzzle was especially fun to find because it's my own dream to open up a cute little brick-and-mortar shop like this one (but for puzzles and other slow hobbies rather than stationery supplies). At only 500-pieces this puzzle didn't take too long to put together. I enjoyed the line work of the windows and doors, though that did end up being the spiciest part of the puzzle (and I use that term lightly, it wasn't that difficult). The colors were what I loved the most, as it's such a soft delicate little color palette. I had to keep reminding myself not to over saturate these photos when I was editing them because it's quite soft in comparison to the usually vibrant, darker looking puzzles I typically find.

Unfortunately, several of the piece edges were starting to peel up in places, which was a bummer, but I am still so happy I was able to puzzle this one. That's the danger of buying puzzles second-hand and IMO well worth the discounted price.

eeBoo's are such lovely little puzzles aren't they? I love the artwork that they choose for their puzzles and the pieces are always so vibrant and gorgeous, but dang can they be hard to photograph well. That shiny finish always makes it hard to get the right angle to show off the art without a big glare over a portion of it. It also makes for a harder puzzling experience if you don't have a surface that tilts. I did hear someone say that they've made a recent change where their newer puzzles don't have quite as glossy of a finish and if that's the case, I'm going to be so dang happy.

This is 'Magical Fruits' which is an 1000-piecer with art by .devil.art . Isn't this one gorgeous? I've thought this was a particularly pretty pieces of artwork for a puzzle since the first time I saw it. I was lucky enough to finally find this one a couple months back. I did think this one was going to be easier than it actually was. It wasn't hard by any means, but I did expect it to be on the easy side and it was probably a medium challenge for me. I did have to deal with not being able to see a lot of the pieces well because of the glare and I did experience several false fits (something I haven't really had with other eeBoo's which I thought was interesting). My husband joined me pretty early on so we did get through it quickly overall. I think because a lot of the elements share very similar colors and when you get close up to the art everything becomes more textural and it can be hard to see a lot of directional elements and distinction between the pieces. Still, beautiful puzzle and easily worth the moderate challenge.

This puffin is so dang cute with his little rainbow beak and legs! This lovely came to me from who held a giveaway last month that I was lucky enough to win. This is Proud Puffin, the 500-piece puzzle from . I was so excited to have won this giveaway because I've always wanted to try Aurora Puzzles.

Not going to lie, I was a bit intimidated by this one. I assumed this puzzle was going to be much harder than ended up being. I'm thankful it was a 500-piece count which I think ended up being the perfect size for this artwork. I had mistakenly always thought this was a 1000 piece puzzle, so it helped realizing my error.

Puzzling this was fun. I loved putting together the stars. Each star had a different stroke pattern on the outside edge which made it easy to figure out where each piece went and I really appreciated that his belly was a gradient. I was initially quite nervous about the grass sections and even got a little held up when I started working on them, but I realized that some of the strands of grass had very distinct lines of color. Finding the pieces for those strands was relatively easy and then the rest just kind of came together. I loved the whole build.

Here's another puzzle that I held onto for too long without working on it. On the one hand, it does mean that I usually have a stack of really good puzzles that I can work on at any time. But on the other, it also means that when I do work on it, I typically have some sort of 'why did I wait so long' moment.

This is 'Mellow Room' the 500-piece beauty from . I won this in a giveaway hosted by . It's funny because I thought Breakfast Party was going to be my favorite (that's why I worked on that one first months ago), but this one was SO good. I loved working on all the straight lines and because I focused on the dark purple and bright red first I unintentionally built the majority of the little people first. This whole puzzle just made me happy. The color palette is so pretty. I adore .w 's artwork.

I only have one puzzle left from this collection with her artwork to build now, so I'm going to need more puzzle companies to license her art plz and thank you.

I think it's pretty unsurprising that some of my favorite puzzles have ended up being designed by puzzlers. This is the 500-piece X collab puzzle that was released last month. This puzzle was a blast to puzzle through. I love when a puzzle ends up being just a solid fun experience and this one certainly fits the bill. If you haven't worked on a PuzzleTwist puzzle, the images on the boxes are slightly different from the puzzle image itself. In this case, it's a MixedUp puzzle, which means that the elements on the puzzle will typically be in different spots than what you see.

This puzzle took no time at all to get through and I loved every second of it. I think this would be so fun to speed puzzle (which makes sense as it was designed by a speed puzzler and someone who runs speed puzzling events!). I would love to see some of the times that the pros would get on this one. This was my first PuzzleTwist puzzle and I really loved the concept. I don't usually use the box as a reference too often so this felt more like a normal puzzling session to me, but I loved seeing how it differed over time. Those labels were SO fun to put together. I love when a puzzle is full of medium sized elements that are so distinctly different. Whether you sort or not, I think it makes finding the pieces and getting them together so satisfying. Highly recommend!

This is one of the newer Art & Fable puzzle designs that came out several months ago. When this came out I knew without a doubt that at some point, I was going to build this one day. A couple months ago, I decided that I needed to start investing in bulking up the inventory in my puzzle shop and it was an easy decision for me to add this one to my restocking order along with several other Art & Fable designs. was actually the second puzzle brand that I offered on my shop. In my opinion, it is one of the best puzzle brands for their price ($25-$32). I really love that they are art focused, even though sometimes that means their puzzles can be occasionally on the harder side. For an art puzzle brand, I think they do a great job choosing pieces that aren't too hard to puzzle (which is actually a real skill IMO).

This puzzle always looked super fun to me. Beyond just how charming this image is, the size and different colors/patterns of the cats looked like a blast to puzzle. I'm glad to say that it was just as fun as I expected it would be. This is one of those puzzles that is weirdly satisfying to do a full sort on. I liked being able to move through the puzzle completing first the woman, followed by each individual cat. There were some times when the patterns were a little spicy to puzzle, but overall, I made my way through the puzzle pretty steadily. This was one of the rare times when I left the edges until later in the puzzle as I felt like at least the sides would be easier to manage once the art was finished and I think that was true. I'm actually thrilled by how this puzzle came together.
