Okay, we have dates! Thursday October 1 through Saturday October 3, come out to enjoy our curated collection of hundreds of new enamel metal badges, each just $2. It's likely there will be badges left from Sunday going forward, but we were only able to order 3-4 of some of the best, and we expect those will be gone. Thursday through Saturday there will also be little prizes, and giveaways during the 'Palooza. Something for everyone!

We don’t usually write about the stuff we have in the store, but we have got a fantastic selection of really unusual 2027 calendars. Including a tiny one for comic book covers about witchcraft and a huge one that is Art of Shakespeare. And Moomins! Color Theory! And some Frida Kahlo beyond the usual. I know you all use the calendar on your phone, but really a wall calendar is a very useful thing and makes a great gift.

Sad news about Annie Dillard. Depressing to be reminded that she wasn’t taken seriously because she was physically attractive. Seems women can’t win— too sexy or not sexy enough. The message always that your own merits are never enough. Rest in Power, Annie.

Her Thoreau-like account of journeys in the woods, published when she was 28, was the first of many ruminations on life and nature, good and evil.

All of the windows on the front of the building have been repaired. ❤️ The open spaces are sliders where the windows are open.
