It's a busy week at the Market!

Culture Kitchen: A Taste of Mexico is this Thursday, Kettering Health is back for more free health education and screening on Friday, and Diabetes Dayton will be here for Hunger Action Month on Saturday.

To cap it all off, we have two awesome musicians returning to the Market this weekend: Live Your Dream (LYD) and Jonathan Hamilton.

We haven't officially announced our newest food vendor yet: Iggy Ragu’s!

You may have seen their cool food bus around town offering up Italian-inspired breakfast and brunch eats. Now their serving those delicious sandwiches and sides at their new spot at 2nd Street Market!

The Foodbank, Inc. is here today until 3PM, ready to collect non-perishable food items for Hunger Action Month. Don't have any items to donate? They're ready to take financial donations, as well. The Foodbank can provide 4 meals for every dollar, so every dollar counts.

Stop by, say hello, and see how you can help fight food insecurity in the region.

Inside the market, several vendors are also collecting donations for the Foodbank. If you see an orange tote bag, you can purchase a little extra while you shop, add it to the tote bag, and it'll be picked up by the Foodbank later in the day!

Slowly but surely it's all been worth it. We planted our flag, painted our walls and fired up the grill to bring you some of the best brunch Dayton has to offer.

Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Every person who has shown up, shared encouraging words and enjoyed our food have made our little families dream come true. BLESSED is an understatement.

Exciting new collaborations are happening at 2nd Street Market! Choice Juice Boxx 937 has started a new Produce to Pour series, which will feature a new juice in partnership with other 2nd Street Market vendors.

First up is the Watermelon + Pineapple, with watermelons from Oaks and Sprouts Limited and Highland H**p, LLC. Stop by either booth to try it out and visit Choice Juice Boxx to purchase a bottle.

"Produce to Pour was built to show the journey from bin to bottle, all inside the market," said Donna Wilson, owner of Choice Juice Boxx. "Produce to Pour brings the farm-to-bottle story to life right here in the market — it's an event series we created and host to partner with fellow vendors. Oaks & Sprouts is our Founding Farm Partner — their watermelons are the star, we just press it."

"The debut pour, Watermelon + Pineapple, is pressed from watermelons sourced from Highland H**p in Hillsboro, Ohio through Oaks & Sprouts inside the market," said Graham Oberly, owner of Oaks & Sprouts. "Highland H**p co-owner Connor Kimble picks the melons the week of the market before delivering to Oaks & Sprouts. Connor uses natural farming practices to grow a variety of red and yellow seeded watermelons along with other produce including peppers, tomatoes, cantaloupe, and pumpkins. Customers can shop for the watermelons at Oaks & Sprouts and purchase the juice at the Choice Juice Boxx booth. It's been great to have customers taste the juice at our booth and see how buying local keeps it fresh and keeps dollars in Dayton."

The Foodbank, Inc. will be here this Saturday to kick off Hunger Action Month at 2nd Street Market. Each Saturday in September, the Market will host a local organization working to end hunger in the region, which affects over 118,000 individuals in the greater Dayton area.

The Foodbank will be collecting financial donations and non-perishable food donations that day to support their cause. Market vendors will also have orange tote bags for anyone that wishes to purchase extra items to donate while shopping.

Diabetes Dayton and Revive Church will be visiting later in the month to collect non-perishable food items and financial donations to further their causes, as well.

This weekend kicks off Hunger Action Month at 2nd Street, which we do in partnership with The Foodbank, Inc., who will also be the first organization to visit for the month. Stop by Saturday to donate money or non-perishable food items to help fight food insecurity in the region.

On Sunday, the local chapter of the Electric Vehicle Association of Ohio will be here to talk about electric cars and allow visitors to get up close to check out some EVs.

DeBray is bringing their fun vibe to the Market on Saturday, and we have T.Kao on Sunday for their first performance at 2nd Street. Make sure to stop by to enjoy some great music this weekend!
