I had the privilege of co-creating these custom hats for Tyler Collins’ mom and the family to wear while they cheer on the #11 car. We took that sleek racing identity and brought it to life with high-fidelity patches on everything from Richardson 112s to Flexfits.

Whether it’s a youth-sized snapback for the smallest fan or a classic camo for the crew, seeing a family united under one logo is exactly why I do what I do.

It’s not just an airboat. It’s your airboat.

Check out the detail on this custom patch we just wrapped up. We didn’t just engrave a generic hull; we dialed in the rigging and even burned the specific registration number right onto the side.

Another Week in the Books at Crazy Kat Outfitters

They say time flies when you’re having fun, but around here, it mostly flies because the laser is moving at top speed. This past week was a perfect example of why I love what I do—getting to co-create with folks who appreciate the difference between "generic" and "just right".

The Latest Off the Bench:

Setting the Bar: Talk about living up to your name. It was a pleasure putting together these "Au" (periodic table for Gold, for the folks who slept through chemistry) hats for The Gold Standard Construction and Consulting. When you call yourself the gold standard, your gear needs to match. These patches on the Richardson 115s fit the bill perfectly.

The Fleet: Had a blast knocking out these Richardson 112s for Satterwhite Farms and Willys Fiberglass. There’s something deeply satisfying about seeing a logo hit leather for the first time.

Sun Protection: Logan’s Lawn & Landscape is ready for the Florida heat with these giant straw hats. We even did a matching black snapback because, let's be honest, a professional needs options.

The Personal Stuff: My favorite part of the job is the emotional payoff. Whether it’s a heart-shaped board for Margaret & Craig or a retirement plaque for Phil & Mel, these are the moments that matter.

The "Promotion": Big congrats to the new "Human Grandma" and "Grandpappy" (EST. 2026!). Those tumblers were a highlight of the weekend—nothing like a little mischief to go with your coffee.

Finally came up for air long enough to look back at what we built this past month.

The shop has been non-stop, but amidst the holiday rush, we turned out some really incredible custom pieces. I’m talking deep engraving on slate, crisp details on wood and leather, and some custom knives that came out looking sharp (literally).

I’m pretty critical of my own work, but I’m proud of how these turned out. It’s not just about burning a logo onto something; it’s about making it look like it belongs there—whether it's on a blade or a tumbler.

I’ve been missing in action on here lately.

Truth is, between the holiday rush and getting this new line of 1010 hats dialed in, I’ve just been buried in the work. But looking at the stack of custom orders we’ve knocked out over the past couple of weeks, I know it was time well spent.

We’ve been cranking these out for the folks who actually work for a living. You know the deal—even when it isn't blazing hot out, if you’re grinding outside, your hat takes a beating. Dirt, grease, water, sweat… most hats just soak it up and stay gross.

That’s why I’m backing these 1010s. They are designed in the USA and fully waterproof. You get them dirty? They can take it. They don't get soggy, and they don't hold onto the grime.

I’m going to get better at posting (I promise), but right now, I’m focused on building gear that actually survives the job site.
