Swamp Donkey Walleye Open 2026 - Anyone Can Win!

All good things must come to an end. Mother Nature won this time. There are a pile of pre spawners by the dam, but they will be back in the lake before the river clears up. I personally have never seen it this bad. Thank you to everyone that contuines to support our small operation year after year. In the meantime keep supporting your favorite little guy, Good Ole Days Bait & Tackle, Walleyes & Whitetails, North Shore Bait Company, Smokey's on the Bay, and Rippn-Lips Tackle Company. These guys fight Mother nature all year round. Good Luck, tight lines, and God Bless!

Huge shout out to Shia's Outdoor Adventures for putting together this video of our annual swamp donkey tournament. Give his page a follow and follow him on YouTube for some great content. He's about as authentic as they come. Thanks again Shia, you knocked it out of the park.

Things seem to finally be headed in the right direction. We are gaining clarity and water temps will be rising this week. You can finally see rocks underwater along the shore. I anticipate some big bags for Trevor's night tournament Saturday and solid week and half to 2 weeks of excellent fishing, granted we dont get anymore down pours. There are a pile of fish in the river that havent been fished and the post spawn casting and trolling bite is about be fire.

Remember the good ole days in Fremont, when Ma's was Ma's and Chicos was Chicos? Well Reid Raschke at Good Ole Days Bait & Tackle is bringing back the good ole days. He knows the river and has a great selection of tackle. Located in the Lets Meat parking lot, you will find a trailer full of walleye candy.

Hey TG Gabriel we figured out how to hold 2 fish at once last night without holding them vertical. Rubber gloves and a quick trigger finger on the camera. Smaller custom hit sticks painted by Frank Sterzinger were the ticket last night. They are inhaling the smaller baits right now, with brighter colors being the best. Bigger bites still coming on the bright colored P10s, but the #9 hitsticks are getting hit more. Slower than Monday night, but we still caught a bunch. Less fish but better quality. Big fish was 29.75.
