Everlasting Gobstopper.

Holy Toledo, come on Betsy, and don't look back now.

This has got to be the closest thing I've ever had to an Everlasting Gobstopper.

Talk about flavor changes, textures blending and/or contrasting from one to the other, which is one thing I don't do.

But in this particular scenario, it's an experience that can't be missed. If I do say so myself.

I sure wasn't expecting all of that.

The V-Twin.

The industry spends a lot of time talking about indica for the couch and sativa for the daytime. You've heard it a thousand times.

Personally, I don't put a whole lot of stock in that conversation.

But that doesn't mean you haven't found some specific indica you've got dialed in before bed. And if that works for you, that's great. That's not what I'm saying.

If I was a betting man, I'd be just as likely to take a draw off the indica side before heading out for an afternoon no-pad tackle football game. It's not like it's going to put me into some narcoleptic state in the middle of the football game I'm focused on playing, or anything else I may want to focus on doing.

That's just me.

Everybody's experience is their own, and a lot of it depends on what you've got going on at the time.

If I'm focused on a football game, I'm focused on a football game. If I'm sitting around with nowhere to be and nothing to do, that's a completely different situation.

What I like about the V-Twin isn't being told what side I'm supposed to prefer. I like having both options sitting right there in the same device and deciding for myself.

Holy s**t. The phones are finally back up and running.

After several days of phone issues around the village, we're finally back in business and answering calls again.

I'll be honest, I still don't know exactly what happened, but I'm glad it's over.

If you've been trying to reach us, place an order, ask a question, or just make sure we're open before making the drive, the phones are working again.

You can always use the website too, but I'm just glad we're back up and communicating.

For a few days there, it felt like we were operating with one hand tied behind our back.

Now we're talking.

We're here. We're working. And I'm here to serve.

We're staying open till 10:00 p.m. tonight to help make up for the phones being down

As always, everything eventually gravitates over the bridge.

And now the missiles are flying.

269 Missiles are well known around these parts. Full flower. No shortcuts. No cutting corners. No mystery filler. Just the kind of craftsmanship and consistency that built the reputation in the first place.

People have been making that trip north for generations. Some for the water. Some for the woods. Some for the adventure. These days, quite a few know exactly what they're looking for before they ever cross the Mackinac Bridge.

The season is opening up across Northern Michigan and the Eastern Upper Peninsula. More daylight. More road trips. More people heading toward the edge of the map where the pavement, the water, and the wilderness all come together.

269 Missiles continue to be one of those names people remember.

The bridge keeps bringing them north.

Flowers.

Flowers everywhere.

Lilac season is here, the Lilac Festival is underway, and for a few short weeks the Eastern Upper Peninsula starts smelling a whole lot different.

Funny thing about this time of year...

People will travel miles to stop and admire a flower.

And honestly, we can't blame them.

Whether it's lilacs along the roadside or beautiful cannabis flower, some things are only around for a season, and that's part of what makes them worth appreciating.

Meanwhile, around the Eastern Upper Peninsula, the fish are biting, the roads are open, and another Michigan summer is getting underway.

Funny how everybody seems to be looking for something this time of year.

OMG... the gingerbread house.

I can't help it. Every time I see this place, my mind goes straight to Hansel and Gretel.

The old story had an edible house in the woods, a winding trail, and a little adventure waiting at the end.

Years later, the story has changed.

The forest is still out there.
The trail is still there.
The adventure is still there.

But these days, grown-ups tend to find their own path, and sooner or later, all roads heading east seem to end at the same place...

Where the land meets the water and the adventure begins.

Somewhere along the way, the gingerbread house evolved.

Maybe that's where the story was headed all along.
