What is something you wished you knew when you first started baking?

For me, it's using temperature (food thermometer) to determine when bread is done. Much more reliable then an inserted knife or toothpick.

To my fellow small business friends — I’m asking you to please share this. 🤍

The Bechtold family faced an unimaginable tragedy yesterday. In just a matter of minutes, their lives changed forever with the loss of their daughter, Haylee Marie Bechtold.

Haylee was also one of us. She loved to bake, made sourdough bread, and sold her creations at farmers markets. She was part of this wonderful community of local bakers, makers, vendors, and small businesses that so many of us are fortunate to be a part of.

I’m asking my small business friends to please help me pass this along. Share it to your pages, your local groups, your customers, and your fellow vendors so we can surround this family with the support of our community. Even a simple share can help this reach someone who is able to give.

Please keep the Bechtold family and everyone who loved Haylee in your thoughts as they face the unimaginable days ahead. 🤍

🍪 DeBary Cookie Wars is officially in the books! 🍪

What a fun day at the market City of DeBary with Specialty Pop-up Events! The Cottage Porch Co. entered our “Tastes Like Summer” Coastal Coconut Cookie into today’s Cookie Wars. 🌴🥥☀️ While we didn’t place, we had such a great time being part of the competition! Thank you, & Cheesecakechinos While, I love me some cookies, y'all took on a real feat today. I hope you had some milk with all those cookies! 🍪 🥛

It was so much fun seeing all of the cookie vendors out today. And even though technically we were competing against each other, that certainly wasn’t how it felt. Everyone was so friendly and supportive of one another, and the whole market had such a fun, festive atmosphere. ❤️

I only wish I’d had a chance to sneak over to the judges’ table and see all of the entries together — can you imagine that much cookie goodness in one place?! 🍪🍪🍪

And to everyone who came out to see us today — THANK YOU! With ALLLLL of those cookie samples being passed around, y’all still showed up, stopped by to say hi (we love that!), and picked up goodies from our table. We appreciate every single visit and every single purchase. 🥰

Today was also the last day for our Strawberry Cream Bread 🍓 as we start making a little room on the table for some new seasonal treats.

Because... fall flavors are coming! 🍎🍂🎃

We’re already brainstorming the fall menu, but we want to hear from YOU. What flavors or treats would you like to see on The Cottage Porch Co. table this fall? Pumpkin? Apple? Maple? Caramel? Pecan? Something we haven't thought of yet? Drop your ideas in the comments — you just might inspire something new!

We can’t wait to see everyone at the next market! Our upcoming schedule is posted at the top of our page.

🍪👑 COOKIE WARS IS COMING TO DeBARY! 👑🍪

The Cottage Porch Co. cookie collection has been growing lately… and you guys have been giving those cookies a whole lot of love! ❤️🍪

So naturally, there was only one thing left to do…

SEND ONE INTO BATTLE. ⚔️🍪😂

This Sunday (8/23), The Cottage Porch Co. is joining 30 fabulous, local cookie bakers in the Ultimate Cookie Showdown at the DeBary Farmers Market — and I am SO excited!

I’ll be entering ONE of our cookies into the competition for a chance at the COOKIE CROWN 👑🍪

Sooooo…

👀 Can you guess which one I’m entering?!

The cookies will be put to the test by a panel of judges featuring DeBary’s very own Cheesecake Chino! 👑

And while the judges have the tough job, YOU get the delicious one — come out and sample cookies from the contestants! With 30 bakers bringing their creations, there should be plenty of cookie goodness to go around. 🤤🍪
