673 days. My children were gone for 673 days.

An Illinois DCFS intern/trainee served as the sole investigator on my family’s case. Her investigation resulted in my children being removed from their home for nearly two years, causing them to endure profound and lasting trauma. I firmly believe this outcome could have been avoided had our case been handled by a properly trained Child Protection Specialist. If Illinois DCFS hopes to regain even a measure of public trust, the people of Illinois deserve assurance that the agency will be held accountable.
