🌿 Plant Rescue of the Day! 🌿

Yesterday I worked on a Golden Goddess Philodendron that wasn’t looking its best. At first glance, it appeared thirsty, but the real issue was hidden beneath the surface.

After removing the plant from its pot, I discovered the soil had become hydrophobic, meaning water was running through without actually being absorbed by the root system. The plant wasn’t truly getting the hydration it needed.

I carefully inspected the roots and foliage, removed the old soil, and repotted it into a clear nursery pot that can be placed inside the client’s decorative ceramic pot. This setup allows us to better monitor root health and moisture levels moving forward.

We also discussed a future pruning and propagation plan to encourage a fuller, bushier plant rather than a single upright stem. I’ll be rooting the cutting and returning it to the client once it’s established.

One of my favorite parts of plant care is helping people understand why a plant is struggling—not just treating the symptoms.
