Let's talk about something that should not have to be said, but clearly does.

If you come into Happy Hut and sexually harass our employees or our customers, you are DONE here. No warnings. No debate.

Our staff should never have to hear things like:
“You must like it big” because someone is showing a gauged earring.
“What would you do if I put a baby in you?”
“oo, I like when you talk dirty” when someone is literally talking about jars of product and doing their job.

These are real things that have been said inside our store. Out loud. To people who are just trying to work.

Recently, two men repeatedly made similar sexual comments toward one of our female employees, ignored multiple requests to stop, then got angry when boundaries were enforced. One also tried to force a hug on a female customer after she clearly said no.

Let me be crystal clear. This is not flirting. This is not funny. This is not harmless. It is disrespectful, uncomfortable, and unacceptable.

Our team comes to work to do their jobs, not to be objectified, pressured, or made uncomfortable. Our customers come here to feel safe, not to dodge unwanted attention. If you cannot control yourself or respect a simple boundary, you will lose the privilege of being in this space. We protect our people first. Every time.
Happy Hut is built on community, good energy, and respect. If you bring harassment into this shop, you’re choosing to remove yourself from that community.

To everyone who shows kindness and respect every day, thank you. You help keep this space safe for the people who deserve to be here.

UPDATE ❤️🐾

Thank you so much to everyone who has shared and reached out about this sweet boy. He is doing really well and we wanted to share a little more about him.

We spoke with the shelter and learned that his name is Professor Burke. He was adopted bout a week ago, then rehomed by that adopter, and unfortunately escaped shortly after. Cause of that, he is essentially back in limbo and currently without a stable home.

He is incredibly precious and gentle. He walks nicely on a leash, is affectionate without being overwhelming, and settles easily. He is deaf but already knows a few sign language commands and picks things up quickly. He is attentive, curious, and clearly wants to connect with people.

For now, he is safe, cared for, and not being rushed into another situation. We are working closely with the shelter and being very intentional about next steps so he does not continue to get passed around.
If you have experience with deaf dogs or are genuinely interested in fostering or adopting and want to learn more, please message us directly. We are focused on finding him a stable, informed, and loving home where he can truly settle.

Thank you so much to everyone who has shown him love and concern. He really is a very good boy and deserves a family.

Those who know us at Happy Hut know our mission has always been to break that old stigma that surrounds H**p and Cannabis. With every event, sale and smile, we wanted to continue proving h**p culture can be vibrant and positive.

However, even as we continue to smile and push through, there remains a war on small businesses and the working class people of America. As many of you all know already, part of the conditions for reopening up the government was to redefine the legalities of h**p in the 2018 Farm Bill. The language is SO strict that it would make 99% of the current legal h**p industry illegal overnight. This is not just banning "intoxicating h**p." This is banning the entire industry and its the most extreme proposal since the pre 2018 prohibition era.

We’re gonna say this clearly so there’s no confusion: This is not regulation.

This is not about safety. This is not “keeping kids safe.” This is a FULL ON ATTACK on small businesses, legalized h**p, and the communities that built this industry. The government set rules, we all followed them, invested in them, and now they are changing the definition to make it illegal once more.

And do yall wanna guess who some of the largest supporters of the ban are? This sudden moral panic didn’t come from consumers. It didn’t come from communities. It didn’t come from parents. It came from:

*Big cannabis companies who hate competition,
*Big Pharmaceutical lobbyists who want cannabinoid control and,
*Big Alcohol like the Beer Institute and the ADSA who also see h**p as a competitor

The betrayal here is significant. Changing the definition of H**p now criminalizes small businesses like us here at Happy Hut and its supporters. It’s going to collapse thousands of compliant businesses across the state and country and fund the black market sectors. People previously protected under the Farm Bill will suddenly be: "Drug traffickers", Felons and Criminals for carrying a v**e or gummy that was legal the day before.

Most h**p businesses are:
*Family-owned
*Woman-owned
*Black-owned
*Latino-owned
*Indigenous-owned
*Veteran-owned

This is a corporate power grab. Dispensaries are overwhelmingly corporate-owned and this ban shifts wealth upward. We are watching big ma*****na and pharmaceutical companies use Congress to crush competition.

And the funniest part?
Dispensaries still get to sell Delta-9. Pharma still gets their patents while thousands of people lose (affordable) healthcare. Big cannabis still gets their monopoly whilst over taxing the working class. And alcohol. takes. lives.

This ban ONLY kills the affordable, accessible, community based h**p market and is AN EGREGIOUS, DISGUSTING OVERSTEP.

To be absolutely clear this isn't a goodbye. Happy Hut and our associates plan to apply collective and direct pressure on our Senators and House Reps. Major congratulations are in order for two of our own—Jake and Brycton—on their recent graduations! 🎓👨🏼‍🎓👨🏾‍🎓

Jake Reed has officially earned his Bachelor’s in Psychology, and anyone who’s ever had a deep convo with him at the counter knows how thoughtful, intuitive, and insightful he is. He’s got a natural gift for making people feel heard, and now he’s got the degree to back it up. We’re so excited to explore how his knowledge of human behavior can help us create a more intentional, welcoming, and mindful space at Happy Hut.

Brycton Curry just graduated with a degree in Commercial Music with an amazing focus in Jazz Composition, and their creativity knows no bounds. Whether they are curating the perfect vibe in the shop, working on music behind the scenes, or just cracking a joke that makes the whole team laugh, they brings rhythm, heart, and soul to everything he touches.

We’re beyond proud of both of them, not just for their academic accomplishments, but for the dedication, energy, and brilliance they bring into Happy Hut every single day. With their new expertise, we're dreaming bigger, building smarter, and vibing harder than ever before.
