Anyone can stand still and shoot a target from the ready. What counts is being able to get the gun out of the holster quickly, smoothly and safely when you actually need it.
If you carry, your draw is the most important skill you’re probably not practicing. Under stress you won’t rise to the occasion. You’ll fall back to whatever you’ve trained.
What you’re seeing in this clip:
🔹 A clean, consistent draw. Firm grip in the holster, gun on target, finger off the trigger until the sights are on.
🔹 Accurate hits on the target. Speed doesn’t mean much if the shots miss.
🔹 Scan and assess. The threat in front of you may not be the only one.
🔹 A slow, deliberate reholster. There’s never a reason to rush putting the gun away.
Most ranges won’t let you draw from the holster. At Guardian, you can. Our indoor range in Deer Park gives members the lane time to build real carry skills. When you’re ready to take it further, our NYS DCJS-certified instructors can coach you through it one-on-one or in a class.
Train the way you carry. 💪
