As most DeKalbians know, barbed wire has a long history here. The director of the J. F. Glidden Homestead & Historical Center contacted me, to have these barbed wire keychain lanyards in their gift shop!

Go check out some DeKalb history at the homestead (located in the Glidden Florist parking lot), as well as their gift shop with many local creations!

I plan to gift these to my kids’ teachers and add the gold standard Ticonderoga pencils, as well as some fidgets.

The last photo shows weighted lap pads I made for some wonderful teachers who teach kids with special needs. Really, anyone can benefit from these, especially kids with ADHD! The weight helps calm them.

Finally finished the first of a few sets of items, made from images of my brother's handwriting and one of his shirts. My brother passed away from brain cancer at the age of 36, in 2022.

He wore this Hawaiian shirt after his second of three brain surgeries and said he wanted to dress for the prognosis he wanted. He was "lucky" (or as lucky as he could be anyway) after his first and second surgeries, but the third time the tumor came back over the span of nine years, it was the one the doctors had warned us about from the beginning. Life is short, so enjoy every moment! The little things do not matter whatsoever.
