Year-round, NIU's campus community contributes to care, support, and belonging of LGBTQ+ Huskies and their allies. The "NIU Celebrates Pride!" event celebrated the collective good work happening on our campus!

We are honored to highlight Northern Illinois University's 30th Annual Pride Awards. For three decades, we have recognized the achievements of individuals on and off our campus who promote inclusion and excellence within the LGBTQ+ community at NIU and beyond.

Sponsored jointly by Prism, the Center for the Study of Women, Gender and Sexuality, the Gender and Sexuality Resource Center, and the Presidential Commission on Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity, awards given include the Eychaner student and faculty/staff/alumni awards and recognition of student leadership.

Thank you to everyone who shared our story, supported us, and donated this Huskies United!

We are thrilled to share we reached and surpassed our goal--ending with 12 donations from 11 donors! We raised $1,625 towards student leadership initiatives at the Gender and Sexuality Resource Center!

Also! We're excited to reveal to you our date for our annual Homecoming Virtual Social: Tuesday, 10/6/26! More details forthcoming.

LGBTQ+ Ally Training has been a cornerstone of the resource center since 1998, continues to be a highly sought after training for our campus community, and a is beacon of inclusive excellence at NIU. More recently, members of NIU's LGBTQ+ Speakers Bureau have provided voice to the student experience and importance of allies in the training.
