Happy Seal Swap Sunday! This week the theme is old world so I broke out my vintage wax seal stamps.

📜 Sealed with a Secret: Did you know that in the 1800s, the color of your wax seal told the recipient exactly what your letter was about before they even opened it? 🤫
During the Victorian era, letter writing followed a strict etiquette code. I'm channeling that 19th-century energy by pairing these genuine antique stamps with their historically accurate colors:
❤️ Red Wax for my classic "A" initial stamp (the dark wood handle). Red was the ultimate historical default used for everyday correspondence and important official mail.
🩷 Pink Wax for my tiny bone-handled stamp. Look closely—it features a hand pointing toward the French word "AMITIÉ" (Friendship). In the 1800s, pink wax was strictly reserved for notes of friendship, praise, and warm admiration.
Holding these pieces of 1800s history makes me want to bring back the lost art of the handwritten letter. ✍️✨
