Its been a rough ten days. Last week we said see you later to our best girl, Addy. Addy was the sweetest, most beautiful, never met a stranger, once in a lifetime kind of dog. Her tail didn’t just wag, her whole b***y wiggled. Everyone that met her, loved her. She acted like she wasn’t the center of our universe because as soon as she met a friend she’d act like a love deprived puppy. She was 15, we watched her go from our beautiful lil girl to a cranky old lady + we’re thankful for every snore, kiss, lack of personal space + attention we got from her. Gosh, where do I start?! I am forever grateful + humbled by the era of Baker & Co. Today marks exactly one week of closing our doors for the last time + I don’t think I’ve slowed down long enough to process it all completely.
Today I wrote my second blog, An Open Love Letter to Baker & Co. It’s pretty vulnerable + totally out of my comfort zone. I just want everyone to know how truly grateful I am for a space that held me so tightly when I needed it the most.
To our customers - you guys are the real MVPs! I can’t believe the way you showed up day after day when we announced our closing. We went out on TOP! We closed out the B&Co era beating our sales by over $100k without a 4th quarter! What?!! You guys are unbelievable, THANK YOU!
To every person that took the time to tell me I was doing the right thing + offer reassurance, condolences + congratulations, THANK YOU. I needed it more than you’ll ever know. I’m still trying not to cry, haha! When does that part stop? I have so many emotions but the gratefulness + proudness are just at the very top. From the bottom of my heart, thank you for everything! 🤍

Today I turned in my keys + locked the door on the way out for the final time. What a true blessing the chapter of Baker & Co. has been 🤍 I can’t believe I got to live out a dream as beautiful as this + I don’t even mean just physically the store! Everyone that I’ve met along the way has been such a blessing. THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart, I am forever grateful!

It was all a dream ✨ we saw the New Journal space for rent on a Friday in May during Covid, toured the building on Monday + signed the lease by Tuesday.

I remember sitting in the parking lot across the street thinking how in the hell are we going to pull this off 🥹 I just remember thinking how cool it was going to be to have our name on that building! 🥰

The day before opening 🤍 We did SO much work to that space to turn it into Baker & Co!

Our socks were blown off that weekend! We couldn’t believe that we had pulled it off

It’s the eve of our last day + I can not tell you how many emotions I have. I know “bittersweet” is the word typically used but it just doesn’t feel like a big enough word to encompass all of my emotions. This has been one hell of a chapter + I’m so thankful for it. My gratitude is overwhelming. Thank you all for such a beautiful chapter with Baker & Co. 🤍

This little video was from the night before we opened 6 years ago… how time has flown. If I could’ve only know what this sweet chapter of my life would teach me then. Baker & Co. has been undoubtedly one of the most beautiful chapters of my professional life but if you only knew how it held my personal life together during the most difficult period of my life… I truly believe everything happens for a reason. I am so, so deeply thankful for these six amazing + beautiful years of B&Co and every customer I’ve met along the way. Thank you for being the best part of this journey! 🥹🤍

We’ve got THREE more days to enjoy this beautiful space together. I went in + did a little fluffing this morning, there are still some beautiful pieces, things that would make great Christmas gifts + of course a few little treats for yourself! We can’t wait to see you these last three days. 🤍
