CGC Announces In-House Private Signing with Comic Book Writer Ron Marz

Posted on 9/1/2022

Ron Marz is heading to CGC to sign your books!

CGC is excited to announce that we will be hosting an exclusive In-House Private Signing with comic book writer, Ron Marz! Marz has carved out a long and acclaimed career in the comics industry, starting with a lengthy run on Silver Surfer for Marvel. Since then, he has worked for virtually every major publisher and compiled a long list of credits, including Thor for Marvel, Green Lantern and Superboy for DC, Star Wars for Dark Horse, and the historic Marvel vs. DC crossover, among many others.

Marz’s long credits list also includes his legendary run on Witchblade for Top Cow/Image, the Skylanders series for IDW, the Justice League: Endless Winter crossover of DC, a triumphant return to one of his signature characters in Silver Surfer Rebirth, and Swamp God for Heavy Metal magazine. Marz has also written for video games, including multiple Skylanders titles, Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2, and Spider-Man 2. He is currently part of the Diablo narrative team at Blizzard.

“The Signature Series team is looking forward to having Ron join us for this exclusive In-House Private Signing,” said Brittany McManus, CGC Signature Series Director. “He’s a super versatile writer who has written for so many great series!”

If the signing needs to be rescheduled, CGC will securely store all submissions in its vault until the event can be rescheduled.

After Marz signs the submitted books, CGC will grade and encapsulate them with an estimated turnaround time of six weeks. If CCS pressing is also requested, the turnaround time is estimated at eight weeks. After grading and encapsulation, the collectibles will be shipped back

CGC Announces In-House Private Signing with Iconic Comic Book Artist Todd McFarlane

Posted on 9/6/2022

CGC is excited to welcome back the "Toddfather," and this time he'll be signing books and Marvel cards featuring his art!

CGC Signature Series is excited to announce that the one and only Todd McFarlane is returning for another exclusive In-House Private Signing, and this time, he’ll be signing comics books and Marvel cards featuring his art.

Fans will have the option to choose from two brand-new Todd McFarlane custom labels for their comic book submissions, including the very first Todd McFarlane Spawn label. Marvel cards will automatically be encapsulated with a special Todd McFarlane custom label.

These custom CGC Todd McFarlane labels are ONLY being offered for this signing event.
In his early days, McFarlane worked for Marvel and DC Comics, and he went on to become one of the founding members of Image Comics, where he currently holds the position of President. He has been awarded both the National Cartoonist Society Award and Inkpot Award during his career, and he was inducted into the Canadian Comic Book Creator Hall of Fame in 2011.

McFarlane is best known for his highly recognizable work on series like The Amazing Spider-Man, Batman, The Incredible Hulk and his creator-owned series Spawn. He also is the co-creator of the fan favorite Marvel character, Venom. Recently, at San Diego Comic Con 2022, McFarlane announced that he will be writing an all-new Batman/Spawn crossover with artist Greg Capullo, slated for Winter 2022.

“The CGC Signature Series team is proud to welcome Todd McFarlane for what is sure to be an enormous In-House Private Signing!” said Brittany McManus, CGC Signature Series Director. “He is a comic industry legend, and we are beyond honored to have him join us. With so many iconic covers, and the opportunity to submit Marvel cards, we’re really looking forward to seeing all of the fan submissions for this special signing!”

Our Story

Kelly and Laura:

Laura met Kelly at an Ohio University bar one Halloween. Kelly was dressed as Nightwing in a suit he made himself and that was the night that Laura decided he would be hers. Just kidding, he looked ridiculous and they didn’t start dating until a year later.

They bonded over movies, TV and music and eventually developed a kick ass karaoke reputation. Soon they were married and not long after they found out that they were having a baby! In true nerd fashion, Kelly and Laura named him after a character created by Joss Whedon.

Once the Nerd Child was mostly self sufficent they decided office life wasn’t for them. Apparently wine drinking isn’t a viable profession, so they thought a comic shop would be right up their alley.
