Before dating apps. Before swiping left. Before profiles, algorithms, and curated photos.

You met people by actually going somewhere.

A record store. A concert. A mall. A diner. A friend's basement.

You started conversations because you had something in common, not because an app told you that you did.

And somehow a generation managed to build friendships, relationships, and entire lives without ever creating a username.

Crazy how that worked.

Time for a little Country !!! It's the 40th Anniversary of the great first album by RANDY TRAVIS, "Storms Of Life" !!! That wonderful rich voice, and some killer songs to sing too, like the title song, and the 2 big hits, "On The Other Hand" and "Diggin' Up Bones" !!! Other greats songs here are "1982", "No Place Like Home", and 2 written by Randy, "Reasons I Cheat" and "Send My Body" !!! The beginning of a long career cut tragically short . What a way to introduce yourself, with such a hot first album !!!!!

It's June !!! Let's go to Jamaica for the 50th Anniversary of PETER TOSH's first solo album !!! "Who ?" says most everybody who owns Marley's Legend album ??? Peter was a founding member, singer and writer of The Wailers, who struck out on his own in the mid 70's and came out with this killer album !!! More than the title song "Legalize It", full of righteous anger and Rock Steady groove, this is a must own record for all fans of true Reggae music !!! The man was a real revolutionary and was eventually gunned down for his views and calls to action, in his own home, in his native country that he loved. You say you want a revolution ? The soundtrack is here and the man is PETER TOSH !!!!!

Last one for May >>> It's the 50th Anniversary of this fantastic album by JEFF BECK, "Wired" !!! His 2nd instrumental album brought even more people into the Jazz/Fusion world with some amazing jams like "Led Boots", "Blue Wind", and a cover of Mingus' "Goodbye Pork Pie Hat" !!! One of the best Jeff albums, showcasing his fluid and exciting command of a six string electric guitar !!! Highly recommended !!!!!

It's the 40th Anniversary of the first HUGE selling Rap album, "Raising Hell" by RUN DMC !!! Yes, Rap was selling well as the genre was getting more established in 1986, then RUN DMC threw down their 3rd record and the genre exploded !!! Driven by the massive crossover success of the mashup with Aerosmith, "Walk This Way", and 2 other hot singles "My Adidas" and "It's Tricky" and producer Rick Rubin, the doors blew wide open, and Rap rolled in !!! Walk this way, indeed !!!
