Feeling a bit nostalgic on this cloudy cool day. Thought it was time I shared our oldest photos of when we started back in 1994 as well as some new ones. The two large growing greenhouses in the back aren’t shown.
Keep in mind we started our business from absolutely nothing, zero, zip. There was no family member to leave their legacy to us. There was no family fortune left to us in a will. We have fought for every single piece of equipment, greenhouse and growth spurt that we have had. Mostly without any help from anyone but ourselves. We literally put our blood sweat and tears into everything we grow and amazingly we are still here 32 years later.
This is why it is so personal to us when we go to a big box store and see their customers purchasing plants that we sell and have worked so hard to make beautiful and healthy for our customers. Especially when they are paying higher prices than what we ask for. In today’s world we have to start to stop and think more about who we are paying our hard earned money to. I realize convenience is a huge thing, but we are only 5-10 minutes from Home Depot, Walmart, and Lowe’s and we are tax free.
We have had so many customers tell us that they are happy that we are back in Delmar, but if we don’t have continued support, we are not going to be able to keep existing. Mother nature has been a bit cruel to us this fall with rain every weekend. Then when it isn’t raining, it’s unbearably hot. We need your support now more than ever.
We still have beautiful budded mums, winter pansies, pumpkins, gourds, basil plants….
Thanks for listening to my rant. We have always said we have the best customers! We appreciate all of you!
