I’m behind the scenes prepping for Arts & Autos, my first show of the fall season, and getting all the little details ready for market day.

There’s always something special about the first show of a new season. Fresh batches, a packed setup, and the excitement of getting back out into the community.

I can’t wait to see familiar faces, meet some new ones, and start the fall season with Arts & Autos. 💛

They will be available for purchase tomorrow night at ’s SQUARE-D Exhibition benefiting ’s food pantry along side many incredible artists submissions. 💚

I’m grateful to everyone who has helped organize this public meeting and advocate for local vendors, artists, and the broader Denton community.

Many small businesses, including my own, have been adversely affected by decisions made under the current leadership of the Denton Community Market. These issues are not new; they have persisted for years and can no longer be ignored.

Because of this, I believe our community deserves an open, respectful, and productive conversation about these concerns and the future of this important local institution.

Now is the time to make our voices heard. Please consider reading and signing the petition to show your support for meaningful change and greater accountability.

Equally important, I encourage everyone who cares about the future of the Denton Community Market to attend the public meeting and take part in the discussion. Your participation can help ensure that vendors, artists, small business owners, and community members have the opportunity to be heard.

Together, we can build momentum toward a stronger, more transparent, and more inclusive Denton Community Market that truly serves the entire community.

I made the call to take the day off from market today because of the rain… and because it’s Texas, of course the sky cleared up right after.

But honestly, I’m grateful for the unexpected pause.

I’m spending a little time in the soap studio today, which clearly needs some attention, and I’m trying not to judge myself too hard for that. This is what making looks like sometimes. Boxes, supplies, good intentions, and approximately 47 things that need to be put away.

I treated myself to this chair from . As a maker and caretaker, buying something just for my own comfort is not always easy. I’m learning that the spaces where I create deserve care too. And apparently, so do I.

So here’s to cleared skies, messy studios, cozy corners, and giving ourselves permission to make room for rest.

As May comes to an end, I just want to pause and say thank you.

Thank you to everyone who shopped small, supported local makers, stopped by a booth, shared a post, brought a friend, or simply showed up with kind words. It matters more than you know.

Things are challenging for creatives and small businesses right now, which makes your support feel even more meaningful. I’m deeply grateful for the customers, soapy friends, and maker community that continue to show up for one another.

I am fortunate to pop up in spaces that are not only working hard to grow their own businesses, but are also creating room for community to gather and thrive. That kind of energy is rare, and I don’t take it for granted.

Thank you for being part of this little soapy corner of the world. 💛
