I sorted through my inventory and got my van packed and ready for today, but last night I came down with a fever so I have to cancel today’s pop up at Hemlock Fox. 🦊

I signed my lease in JANUARY 😳 but, we’ve made it to this point where things are happening! The asbestos has been safely removed. The framing and old cabinetry is gone. Up next: electrical, wall repair, painting, and floors. After all of that, Sundance gets to move in and set up shop. I’ll have a timeline this week so stay tuned for updates on an opening date!!

Do you also have an insane amount of plastic bags underneath your sink? How I wish Texas would move towards a plastic bag ban, but I won’t hold my breath. In the meantime, instead of waiting for a ban, Sundance will not be buying new single use bags. Instead, we’ll be using the bags we already have. You can always bring in your reusable bags as well!

Processing donations is a big job. There’s sorting, logging the items, tagging, and for now storing.

While the store is undergoing its glow es up, the engine keeping Sundance moving is in my bedroom. This is where I am doing everything for the store. From processing donations, sending out emails, social media, bookkeeping, you name it!

I keep dreaming about what it will look like and how processing donations will look like once the store opens. But for now, everything is home based. 🌞 💃

Store updates!!!! 🚨

Sundance is closer to finalizing the solution for the asbestos remediation and post remediation renovations.

Hopefully by tomorrow, things will be settled and set in motion so Sundance can shine! ✨

Bringing some updates on the store! Bad news is that there’s asbestos. 😢 My landlords are thankfully working with me and I should know more soon! Thank you all for the support and I’ll keep you all posted!

Sundance Thrift is going to cross the finish line, I know it!
Given that inevitability, l’ve had to make some detours and pit stops along the way.
The latest is that before I can move forward with my plan for the storefront, we gotta determine the status of the presence of asbestos.
No mater what the outcome, I am no stranger to having to pivot to make things work!
I want to create a safe and cozy environment for you all. Keep your fingers crossed for favorable results!

What kind of thrift store is Sundance Thrift? 🌞 💃

The answer is pretty simple, a regular ol’ full spectrum thrift store. We take everything from clothes to decor, small furniture, kitchenware, toys, electronics, you name it!
