The Perseid Meteor Shower will reach its peak on Aug. 12. Colorado astronomy guide Mark Laurin — better known as Astro Mark — said that every year when the summer meteor shower rolls around guests at his stargazing events remind him that the shower was the inspiration for John Denver’s “Colorado Rocky Mountain High.”

Rocky Mountain Folk School is commissioning a large donor recognition wall, and we're looking for a local artist or craftsperson to build it. The attached photo shows the style we have in mind: dimensional signage with hand-forged elements, the kind of piece that feels at home in Grand Lake.

This installation will honor the donors who make the Folk School possible, so we want it made the way we teach: by hand, with care, by someone from our community.
