Hi everyone! I’d like to tell you a story and I hope you’ll stick around through this post.
You’ve seen me post a lot about The Celestial Realm Tarot deck that I’ve created. I’ve often used passion project to describe what this deck means to me. I want to tell you more about why this is so dear to me.
For as long as I can remember I’ve been fascinated by the night sky. I absolutely loved NASA and the entire space program, still do to this day. As a kid I’d often write and send letters to NASA and they’d usually send me amazing space photos which just made me so happy. One time, I got an even more personal reply, an autographed photo from none other than Buzz Aldrin! The second person to walk on the moon. I couldn’t believe it, it still seems surreal, and I still have that photo too. Since then space and I have had a special bond.
When we started Celestial Candle Company, I was very much at a place of beginning my journey of self-discovery and really found myself drawn to the metaphysical world, alternative spiritual experiences and practices. As part of our product expansion we began offering tarot cards and I found myself even more intrigued and thought to myself ‘how cool would it be to have a deck that represented the magic of tarot but fit in with our celestial ambiance?’ I occasionally pondered that periodically over the next few years and finally decided to play around with the idea earlier this year.
The deck I’ve been sharing with you isn’t the first version of this deck either. I liked the first version a lot but it didn’t feel right, it was missing something, it was missing a personal touch. I scrapped that deck and started over this time including something that had meant so much to me, my Astro photos as the backgrounds for each card. Although this had the personal touch the first didn’t, I really disliked the art. So I went back to the drawing board and really re-imagined the tarot through a ‘celestial’ lens. Carefully curated with my photos, it finally all came together beautifully and the result is a beautiful deck that holds true to tradition while taking a journey through the cosmos.
This deck means so much to me and I am beyond grateful to have a platform that I can share it with you. My last desire is to be able to put this deck in others’ hands that are resonating with it, thus the reason for the kickstarter campaign.
We’re at the halfway point of the campaign and I’m seeing a light at the end of the tunnel. Every pledge to the campaign, every donation, every share of my posts, telling someone you know that is into tarot puts this project one step closer to becoming a reality; to fulfilling a dream.
I’m so incredibly grateful to everyone that has been a part of this project, every kind word, every ounce of support that’s been provided to me and this project. We’re closing in on the finish line and would love any help and support to get this over that finish line. It all means the world to me.
