This morning here in Denver feels very Fall. Grey skies, a distant bank of low hanging clouds, periodic yellow spots drift down from the trees, everything feels…quieter. It reminded me of a couple days I had earlier this year, in the spring, down in Tucson, Arizona where I was for an Entrepreneurs conference. I took a day post event to stay a couple days in a 100 year old stone cabin in the desert to absorb all I had experienced and replenish my drained tanks from days of people which was awesome but exhausting. This ranch was one of the first in the Tucson area, Tucson Mountain Guest Ranch which used to host movie stars and celluloid cowboys. Now it hosted Roden and I, the deer that came to drink from the old metal watering tray outside, the quail, a tarantula who lived next to the pool and at least one snake that slithered quickly out of my way as I walked “The Wash Trail”. It was perfect in its humble desert ways. The morning of this photo as I prepared a lunch for myself the spring monsoons gifted the parched earth with gentle rains. I felt so at home and this moment captured brings me right back there. 🌵 🌧️
