How it started ✔️
How it ended ✔️
What a weekend, y’all.
I’m going to let myself be still for a bit and relish in that, learn from it, and sometimes force myself into it.
I’m tired, y’all.
I’ve spent a good amount of time reflecting on the last two years and half of me is overwhelmingly grateful, and the other half of me is heavy with the weight of capitalism, s**tbag business owners that I find disheartening, and the absolute burnout that comes with it all.
If you don’t know by now, I’m not flowery when it comes to the realness of business ownership.
My advice to other business owners that have been at it for a few beats, and even the ones just starting out-
Ask for help.
Don’t work with s**tbags because you feel like you have to, or that you don’t have a choice.
Have creative brain-dumps with other folks that are out here doing similar things.
Be conscious of people’s energy and time, but also don’t be a s**tbag and act like you’re the gatekeeper of whatever it is your business is doing.
If you can’t afford to pay people what the deserve, don’t operate a business (🙋🏻♀️)
Let yourself rest.
And for those of you that have been around since that first bake sale on a rando front lawn in a Thornton, and the folks I have fed along the way, thank you so big for letting me be part of your family, your bread breaking, and your community for the last two years.
This isn’t goodbye, it’s just a shift, you know?
Yours In Butter,
AT
