Meet-the-teacher day, but we did it together.
Walked in hand in hand, dropped off their whole supply list at her new desk, met their teacher, found their cubby, checked off every “first day nerves” box — before their first day even started.
No rushing. No overloaded backpack. No “hurry up, we’re late.”
Just us, taking our time, doing it as a team.
This is the part of “being present” nobody talks about — it’s not some big dramatic moment. It’s just showing up, walking slow, and letting a school supply drop-off turn into quality time instead of another item on the to-do list.
She’ll remember the walk. Not the checklist.
