Bernard Patrick Arnest (1917–1986) was an acclaimed 20th-century American modernist painter, draftsman, illustrator, and educator.
A native son of the Rocky Mountains, he discovered his artistic eye at East High School , supplemented his learning at Kirkland School of Art and downtown Denver’s School of Fine Art and Design. He graduated to study at the Broadmoor Art Academy in Colorado Springs and exploded onto the national stage when he was awarded a Guggenheim Fellowship for Creative Work in Painting in 1940.
