Simply Pure

Big congratulations to Tahir Johnson, CEO of Simply Pure Trenton NJ, on being named one of New Jersey’s 2026 Titan 100.

Tahir continues to show what leadership in this industry can look like when it is rooted in vision, persistence, ownership, and community. Building a cannabis business is never easy. Building one while helping expand opportunity and representation takes something more.

This recognition is well deserved, and I am proud to see Tahir and Simply Pure Trenton continue to grow, lead and make an impact in New Jersey.

Congratulations, Tahir. Keep going.

WANT TO KNOW WHAT I WOULD ASK BEFORE INVESTING IN A DISPENSARY? IT IS NOT HOW MANY INSTAGRAM FOLLOWERS THEY HAVE.

I want to know how many customers come back. Opening week can look fantastic. Everybody is excited. Your friends come. The community comes. There are pictures everywhere.

Great! Now show me month six.

Are those customers returning? What are they buying? Are your employees learning their preferences? Are you collecting useful customer data legally and responsibly? Are you creating an experience that makes somebody choose your store when another dispensary is five minutes away?

Retail is a relationship business. The first purchase tells me you got somebody through the door. The second, third and tenth purchase tell me you built something they value.

Cannabis entrepreneurs, stop falling in love with launch numbers. Retention is where the interesting story begins.

Grand openings create attention. Repeat customers create businesses.

BLACK OWNERSHIP WAS NEVER SUPPOSED TO BE CEREMONIAL.

Not a photo. Not a press release. Not a license framed on the wall.

OWNERSHIP. Revenue. Customers. Employees. Growth. Equity. And a business that is still standing years from now.

I am proud to watch Tahir Johnson build Simply Pure Trenton NJ because the next chapter of cannabis equity has to be about sustainability.

Opening the door was step one. Building something powerful on the other side of it is the assignment.
