The feedback regarding the Temperature Compensated Timer (TCT) was an even split between "just a timer/thermometer" and "give me all the features".

Since the feature set is mainly a software issue, we're going to include both the Averaging function and the full blown TCT. After all, if you don't want to use them, just don't turn them on. You can use the SmartCap as a simple thermometer or timer.

Other comments:
We've removed the F/C selection button. People pointed out that they'll set it once and probably never change it. So now, to switch between C and F, you'll have to press the ON button and the TCT button together.

We plan to offer an adapter so you can fit the SmartCap to other roll film tanks.

What does everyone think of the name SmartCap?

Time for a strategic withdraw…

In business, as in combat, you have to know when to pull back, consolidate your forces and prepare to fight another day.

For the RuXpod, that day is today.

It’s obvious we’ve missed the market with this project, and rather just watch wither on the vine, we’re going to cancel it.

While we’re disappointed (and surprised), we’re not discouraged.

After all, this is why we launched a Kickstarter! We needed to know if people would really support the product before spending the small fortune required to get it into production.

To those that backed our vision, thank you.

To those who didn’t: why not? Seriously, we want to know. Your feedback would be greatly appreciated!

Note that the RuXpod is not dead! We still think it’s a great idea but acknowledge that our opinion is highly prejudiced!

We're going to review the feedback, re-envision the concept and relaunch (probably early 2026).

One of the most frustrating aspects of outdoor photography has nothing to do with photography.

It's having to lay my expensive gear down in the dirt after setting up my tripod.

It took years (literally) of experimentation, but we finally fixed that. The idea sounds simple: design a backpack that can mount easily to the tripod. Not only does it keep your equipment out of the dirt, it's also far more convenient. No more bending over, digging through the bag for that lost filter, while the perfect sunset fades away.

After numerous attempts to create our own frame, we realized that the US Army has already solved this problem. So we modified their MOLLE frame so it could mount the rucksack directly on a tripod.

Then we designed a camera bag optimized for use in the vertical position.

Setup your tripod and mount the RuXpod using the two handles to set it on the legs.
