Way back in the day, full squish XC mountain bikes were criticized for being too heavy on climbs. Trek's answer was to engineer a bike to bypass those limitations and the Superfly was born.

Meet Silvia and her 2012 Trek Madone 3.1 WSD, a milestone in Trek's history! This entry-level carbon fiber flagship was released between 2011-2014, known for its classic, lightweight design. 🚴‍♀️

At the time, the Madone line was not yet the radical, ultra-deep aero superbike it is today. Instead, the 3.1 was a classic, lightweight all-around road race machine. Trek discontinued the WSD (Women's Specific Design) following the 2013 model year.
